Valentine's Day Tic-Tac-Toe Tutorial and Giveway

I've been wanting to do a giveaway for a while but I didn't know what to giveaway, then out of the blue it hit me!  Why not write a tutorial and giveaway what I make?

One lucky person will win their own felt Valentine's Day tic-tac-toe game.  To enter the giveaway all you need to do is follow this blog via Google Friend Connect and leave your email address in the comment section so I can contact you if you win.  The giveaway will end Friday, January 27th and the winner will be announced Monday, January 30th.

Now on to the tutorial!

Supplies:

  1. One Red Felt Rectangle, One White Felt Rectangle and One Pink Felt Rectangle (JoAnn Fabric and Walmart sell them)
  2. Paper and pencil/pen or a computer and printer to make your templates
  3. Scissors
  4. Ribbon
  5. Thread to match the ribbon
  6. Sewing machine
  7. Fabric Pen
  8. Ruler
Instructions:

1.  Create your heart and "X" templates by drawing your own or printing images from your computer.

I used the heart I template I had from a previous project.

2. Using your pink and white felt, trace out your your hearts and "X"s.  You will need to trace out five of each.
I recommend using the disappearing ink fabric pen.

3.  After you've cut out all your pieces, take your red felt and your ruler to mark where your lines should be placed.  You will be dividing the felt into 3 parts vertically and horizontally and placing your 4 ribbon lines at those measurements.

4.  Pin your ribbon down to the red felt.  Don't forget to measure and double check that your ribbon is laid evenly.

5.  Sew down the ribbon along the top edge only.

Once you've sewn down your ribbon line you are done!  How cute does this little game board look?

Want one of your own?  You can win this one!

To enter the giveaway follow this blog via Google Friend Connect and leave your email address in the comment section so I can contact you if you win.

The giveaway will end Friday, January 27th and the winner will be announced Monday, January 30th.
